Dear FUFBI fans:

There is a simple rule for deciding whether the government should subsidise somethiing. If something is popular, it does not need a subsidy. If it isn't popular, it doesn't deserve a subsidy.

So, let's look at the Tesla disaster in Chicago.

First, those lithium batteries perform poorly in cold weather. They just don't deliver the juice. Second, internal combustion engines burn fuel. Burning stuff creates heat. Which means, in the winter, a gas or diesel powered car can easily keep your windows and tusch nice and warm and frost free. But in a Tesla, trying to keep the windshield defrosted and your body warm just drains extra juice from the already beleagured battery.

It is easy to laugh at a bunch of rich folks who, despite living in a cold climate, were stupid enough to buy a Tesla. You might stop laughing when you, dear taxpayer, take into account that because of government subsidies, they bought it with YOUR MONEY.
